Cat’s Eye Chrysoberyls are prized for both their stunning appearance and their metaphysical lore. Microscopic striations in the gem cause an eye to move over the top of the gem. For centuries this phenomenon was thought to represent the all-seeing eye of god, granting its wearer protection and good fortune. Most of these gems occur in shades of yellow and gold, but we occasionally find them in other shades like the deeper brown shown here. The client who fell in love with this gem mounted it in a modern engagement ring setting, which features a white gold diamond halo with a carved rose gold shank.
Details: 14k rose and white gold ring with 2.19ct Cat’s Eye Chrysoberyl and .40ctw diamond accents (SI GH).
