Primarily mined as an ore of Titanium (hence the name titanite), Sphene is rarely found in gem quality. This one is the classic golden yellow color, but the gem is so dispersive and brilliant that is causes the gem to break rays of light into various other colors- hence the flashes of red, blue, green and orange emanating from the gem. Cut into a classic pear shape, this made the perfect tear drop pendant which measures just under 1/2 inch total length – perfect for everyday wear.
