Spessartite is the rare orange member of the Garnet family, and this golden-orange example hails from the new mines in Loliondo, Tanzania. Spessartite from this location tend to have a lighter more golden hue but they also have exceptional brightness. This particular stone was cut with round brilliant facets on the back but with a checkerboard top to make the stone extremely lively. The setting was designed to hold the gem up where it can get the most light (and also the best reactions from observers!).
Details: 14k white gold ring with 1.80ct round Spessartite and .20cttw diamond accents (SI GH).
