We often hear the term “mandarin Garnet” used to describe any Garnet with even a tiny hint of orange color. For us, mandarin Garnets must be of the Spessartite variety and have a predominantly orange color with intense saturation- resembling a mandarin orange. The above Garnet is a textbook example of Spessartite, and one we are confident to describe as mandarin. We set this gem in a classic and elegant white gold mounting, but the prongs that hold the center gem are yellow gold which add richness to the glowing orange jewel.
Details: 14k white gold ring with 2.20ct oval mandarin Spessartite Garnet from Nigeria and .12ct diamond accents.
