This antique snake ring was a triumph of our goldsmith’s restoration work. When we received the ring from the auction house it was in a sad state, but these Victorian snake rings are very rare and are worth the effort to restore. So began a three month project wherein we re-cut the ruby into a buff-top, re-shanked the rose gold and platinum portions of the ring, re-engraved the snake details, and tightened the diamond! Now this little snake ring, symbol of fidelity and Victorian betrothals, is ready to be worn for another 125 years!

Details: 14k rose gold and platinum snake ring with a .40ct European cut champagne diamond and .50ct oval ruby, circa 1890.
