Ethiopian Opal Pendant with White Gold Filigree

This fun Opal pendant was made to pay homage to the intricate filigree of older Nouveau designs while using modern materials. The framework is white gold, pierced with floral filigree work, and the Opal is set into a rose gold head. The Ethiopian Crystal Opal is certainly the star of the show here, though. Imbued with shades of green, aqua, red and orange over a translucent water-like base, the Opal entrances you with its movement and shine. The curvature and motion in the filigree work brings out the motion and play of color in the Opal, making for a fun piece worn high on the neck, or on a long chain. The pendant measures over 1.5 inches long and has a wide bail.
