This fantastic pendant and earring set from the roaring 20’s is set with coveted and collectable Coral cabochons. This magnificent Mediterranean Coral is a bright Flame Red with orange undertones, and has set the standard for what ‘Coral’ means as a color. In the Art Deco period, this neon red color was very popular as an evening accessory that could brighten up black dresses, enhance red lipstick, etc. The pendant is lavalier style, crafted in geometric yellow gold, set with an old European cut Diamond, and with a dangling Coral bullet. The gold has subtle rose and yellow tones to it, likely as a result of an acid-wash finish that has partially worn away with time. The earrings are the original mate with button Coral and bullet drops, but they have been set with modern leverback findings at some time in the recent past. We like to imagine some flapper lady wearing these beauties out on the town- and how stunning she looked!
The pendant measures 2 inches top to bottom, and the earrings almost 1 inch including the drop. These come with a period correct fine 10k gold chain. Sold as a set only.
Details: 14k yellow gold pendant & earring set with 4ctw Coral Cabochons (Natural, Mediterranean origin) and .03ct Diamond accent, circa 1925.
