Color Change Garnet Solitaire

$1467

In the 1990s a miner in Bekily, Madagascar discovered a stone that changed color. Due to this unusual phenomenon, he assumed the material was the noteable Alexandrite gemstone, however he, and the rest of the gemstone world, was in for a big surprise. The material was a garnet. Never before had color change garnets been observed that changed so drastically, and even more exciting was that this was the only time a "blue" garnet had ever been found. It is safe to say that every gem collector wanted to own this rare gem, and the deposit was soon exhausted.

Since that initial discovery, some small deposits of similar stones have been found in Tanzania. This stone was mined within the last year from that new source, and rivals the finest Alexandrites on the market, changing from a raspberry red indoors to an indigo blue outdoors. This ring was designed to simply show off this amazing gem. The palladium band has been hand carved, mimicking the Alexandrite rings seen from the turn of the last century. Overall, this is a ring suited for the collector of rare and exotic gems, and a good investment to boot!
