Vintage Longines Admiral 5-Star Automatic Doctor’s Watch

Doctor’s watches are one of the rarest items in watch collecting. Most docs got by with a simple second hand for pulse-taking; but it’s easy to forget a time when a second hand was a premium feature, and accuracy was easily overlooked. This was Longines’ answer. A part of their Admiral 5-star line, which is was their top-end line for timekeeping accuracy, this watch included a second hand, increased accuracy, and a pulsometer on the dial for easy pulse taking. The Caduceus on the bottom shoes that this was made for those in the medical profession. This particular example is made in a gold-filled case measuring 35mm across (looks larger due to the small lugs) with a silver sunburst dial. Automatic high-grade movement in excellent shape.
