Product Description

Anyone who has ever seen a cornflower, or bachelor’s button flower, will know that the color is the most vibrant blue found in the garden world- and this Sapphire is the closest thing to it we have yet seen. This natural Sapphire, totally untreated, was mined and set over 50 years ago, at a time when cornflower blue Sapphires were a bit more available. This is now a very scarce gem, one that is sure to grab attention. The color is a bright, medium blue hue, kissed with just a touch of lavender, which is classic of Sapphires mined in Sri Lanka, AKA Ceylon. The large Sapphire is set in a white gold ring mount, complete with a pair of Diamond accents on either side. While originally made as a right-hand ring, we think this would make an awesome vintage Sapphire engagement ring. Sizable to any size.

Details: mid century 14k white gold ring set with 3.50ct cushion cut blue Sapphire (Sri Lanka, untreated, cornflower color) set with .12ctw round Diamond accents (SI2 GH), circa 1950s.
