Product Description

This amazing lavalier pendant was purchased by one of our clients who wanted a wearable piece of Feminist history. It was crafted in Great Britain using 15k yellow gold in an asymmetrical Nouveau floral style with green Demantoid Garnets, white Seed Pearls, and a pinkish-violet Tourmaline. These gems were symbolic- the green stood for “give,” the white stood for “women,” and the violet stood for “votes.” Pieces like this would have been worn by women who were sympathetic to the Suffragette cause, and who were advocating for the rights of women in Great Britain. This is one of those rare items that makes your spine tingle just to handle it- feeling the history, emotion and power represented in such a fine and beautiful piece.

Details: 15k yellow gold pendant with .70ct pear Tourmaline, .14ct Demantoid Garnet and Seed Pearl accents, circa 1910.
