This stunning Sapphire engagement ring hails from the transitional period at the end of the Edwardian era, circa 1920. One can observe this transition in the detail of the mounting- the ring has the soft curved lines and nature-themed carving of the Edwardian era coupled with the platinum and filigree work that became eponymous with the Art Deco era. The center gem is a beautiful velvety blue Sapphire from Sri Lanka, though it has an inner glow similar to the famed Kashmir Sapphires. It is surrounded by single cut Diamonds flush set into platinum filigree. This ring has a rich and regal presence on the hand and would make a great right-hand or engagement ring.
Details: 900 platinum ring with 1.47ct round Blue Sapphire (heat only, Sri Lanka) and .04ct Diamond accents, circa 1920.
