Dainty Victorian Gold & Enamel Bangle Bracelet

This stunning antique gold bracelet is a prime example of Taille d’Or jewelry- intricate black enameling set into rich yellow gold. The entire outer surface of the bracelet is finely carved and engraved with a diamond pattern, with low areas picked out in contrast by black enamel. The inside of the bracelet is inscribed to the owner- “JLB 5-28-1872” which appears to be a period correct inscription. This hollow-form hinged bangle bracelet was crafted for a petite lady or larger child, fitting to a 6 inch wrist and measuring 3/8th inch wide, but it is in excellent condition, showing very little wear. It features an insertion style clasp and a safety chain, so it could certainly be worn with comfort and security.
