Amazing GEM Amethyst & Diamond Pendant

Amethysts are an often-overlooked gem, simply because the lighter colored and lower quality material is plentiful. This pendant is proof of why Amethyst is worthy of being the February birthstone, and why true gem quality material is impressive. Originally mined in Siberia, Amethyst in deep purple tones are now referred to as ‘Siberian color’ even if they are from another source, like this South American gem. These are exceptionally rare! fewer than 1 in 10,000 natural Amethysts have this dark purple hue- it’s so deep that it takes on red and blue flashes in different lighting! This one has been fashioned into a pear shape, custom cut to maximize the color. We set this in a classic frame of Diamonds in white gold, such that the Amethyst is center stage. The piece measures 1.5 inches long, so it could easily be worn on the neckline or low over a sweater or blouse.
