How it Works
Following industry standards, we use a reputable and accredited third-party appraisal laboratory to avoid conflicts of interest. FWCJ partners with the North American Gemological Laboratory in Bellevue, WA, guaranteeing our clients receive top-quality and ethical appraisals, with up-to-the-minute values.
Detailed analysis of the item(s), including:

- Authentication and gemstone treatment evaluation.
- Condition assessment.
- Detailed measurements and grades.
- Photo documentation.
- Researched value, typically for retail replacement purposes.
Appraisals take approx. 1 week and cost $139 per item or free of charge on purchases made in our store over $2000. Written appraisals for estates and other legal uses are also available.

How it Works
- We offer verbal identification services for your items while you wait, typically at no charge. Our experts are all GIA accredited jewelers.
- For more complex cases or rare items, our in-house gemstone expert and diamond buyer, Brandon, will take a look. Brandon is an accredited gemologist and NAJA qualified appraiser with extensive experience in the fine gemstone and rare antique jewelry domain, capable of providing advanced analysis.
- If we recommend further analysis, we will use the NAGL lab in Bellevue for written appraisal. For high value gems and Diamonds, we utilize the American Gem Labs (AGL) in New York and the GIA Gem Trade Laboratory in Carlsbad, CA. These facilities offer third-party authentication, origin reporting, treatment status verification, and grading services, particularly beneficial for large diamonds, untreated rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and other high-value-colored gemstones.
- Once we authenticate and evaluate your item, we are happy to provide a free secondary market analysis. This is for clients who are curious about their jewelry’s value, or for clients looking to sell their jewelry.
