Natural Ceylon Sapphire & Diamond Star Engagement Ring

This dreamy star-shaped halo ring is set with a fabulous Ceylon blue Sapphire and Diamonds which combine for a striking combination. The ring was designed around the center gem which weighs just over 1/2ct. It was cut by our favorite lapidary who is known for making gems appear larger than their weight would suggest, and the flower style faceting results in added sparkle in an already beautiful material. This Sapphire is from the historic mines in Sri Lanka, and is totally natural and unheated, which is scarce for a gem of this top, pure blue hue. The ring design is not your average halo. While the Diamonds surround the Sapphire, they alternate between large and small sizes, giving the impression of a 6-rayed star (or even a daisy-like flower). The contrast between the icy white Diamonds and the deep blue Sapphire is striking and elegant on the hand, yet the ring was durably crafted and set low for everyday wear-ability and comfort.
