Product Description

When these gems were first discovered in Nigeria gemologists were stumped. They were obviously Beryl, but they were too green to be Aquamarine and too pale to be Emerald. Further gemological testing was performed by the GIA, which determined that the minty-green color of these Beryls is caused by trade amounts of Vanadium, as opposed to Emeralds which owe their color to Chromium. While this deposit produced some beautiful gems it has long since been exhausted. Fortunately we were able to sell some of these great stones while we had them- like this amazing pendant.

Details: 14k white gold pendant with 3.64ct cushion green Beryl and .15ct diamond accent (SI GH).
